Signal City Archive Desk · a tiny expert system in the style of MYCIN (1970s) · back to the desk
Ask it anything that isn't about a down stream. This is what people meant by brittle.
How it works: twelve if-then rules, each with a certainty factor, the way MYCIN weighed evidence. It works backward from each possible cause and only asks what it needs. Answer "probably" or "not sure" and it carries that doubt through, combining evidence the way MYCIN's certainty factors did. Press WHY and it shows the rule it's trying to prove. The rules come from real Signal City outages, like the night every stream went silent because the server hit its listener cap. Inside its job, it's sharp. One step outside, it's lost.
